Lockdown 2.0 2021
18 August Who would have thought 24 hours ago that the whole of New Zealand would be back in lockdown for at least 3 days. This was supposed to be my busiest week of work but between having Monday off sick, Tuesday a specialist appointment and now a snap lockdown it has turned into a week of no work at all. Yesterday afternoon it was discovered that there was an unexplained community case of covid in Auckland and it would probably be the very infectious Delta variant, so at 6pm last night we were told that lockdown would start at 11.59pm last night. This lockdown feels quite different to last time for a couple of reasons. One it came suddenly out of the blue and secondly we have the family so close, but in lockdown oh so far away. Not to mention its winter and the weather is wet and cold, unlike last lockdown's golden weather. Hopefully there won't be too many more entries this time.
